Magnetic pin-joints enable quick and simple assembly without tools or fasteners.
An important goal of this study was to direct all attention to the tabletop. A minimalist frame gravitates emphasis towards the top. This presents an opportunity to develop substantive tops with richer textures and bespoke materials.
Preliminary engineering analysis predicted the table to withstand over 80 kg of loading on the table top: equivalent to an average adult male standing on top.
This is not a groundbreaking furniture style. Instead, this study produced a combination of innovative joinery, advanced composite use, and space design to accomplish the goals of packability, durability, and visual emphasis. The result is analogous to a "play". A star, elevated by its support behind the scenes, and the owner directing it all along their grander interior design vision.
